About the Artwork

There is a brief moment after a storm where the sky becomes magical. It’s always a different experience, but always magical. In this instance, it was almost as if a burst of light tore a hole and split the sky open right down the middle. The light and dark play against the colors in the water and landscape, turning the whole scene into something wonderous. If you might have the privilege to witness something like this, it happens so fast that it disappears as quickly as it comes into view. My paintings often start from a real place, however at some point during the process, my imagination takes over and something entirely new emerges.
